Big lots, and a university in the middle
Northridge was ranch country before it was suburb, and the tracts built over it in the fifties and sixties kept unusually generous lots. That is the single biggest reason buyers come here from elsewhere in the Valley. California State University, Northridge sits at the center of the neighborhood with some forty thousand students, which shapes the rental market, the traffic and a good deal of the local economy.
