The city itself
Aerospace anchors the economy here as it does in Palmdale, with Edwards Air Force Base to the north. The BLVD — Lancaster Boulevard — has had a long downtown revitalization and is now a genuine main street. In spring the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve to the west draws visitors from across the state.

93536 is west Lancaster — newer tract construction, generally larger homes and higher prices. 93534 is the older central city. They get quoted together as one Lancaster market but they do not trade alike, so always check which ZIP a listing is in.
How do Lancaster addresses work?
Lettered avenues run east–west from north to south, and numbered streets run north–south, counted east or west from Sierra Highway. So 45521 13th Street West sits on 13th Street, west of Sierra Highway — you know roughly where it is without opening a map.
Is the commute manageable?
